Misses' Tunic & Trousers

Semi-fitted, sleeveless and pullover tunic has high round neckline, shaped hemline and side slits. Close fitting, straight legged trousers have elastic waist and stitched hems.

Use light weight knits.

Suggest use as layering components, wearing the top under a long sleeved jacket or duster and over the trousers or a skirt.

Misses' Blouse.

Very loose-fitting blouse has either long or elbow length, raglan sleeves with drawstrings, front neckline slit, neckline drawstring and narrow hems.

Use Viscose, rayon, batiste, silk, Georgette or chiffon.

Burda 3229 - 1997

Misses's Top & Skirt.

Fitted, unlined, princess line top in two lengths has bateau neckline, back zipper and narrow hems. A is sleeveless and hip length. B is below hip length and has short sleeves and front seam slits. Straight, unlined skirt has front panels, partial front overlay, back waistline darts, narrow waistband, side zipper and narrow hems either shin length A or above knee length C.

Use cotton fabrics, linen, heavy weight viscose rayon.

Misses' Blouse or Dress.

Semi-fitted, unlined blouse A or Dress/tunic B has inverted centre back and front pleat, v-neckline with bias cut neck band, bust darts, long sleeves gathered into bias cut wrist bands. A Wrist band s extend into ties. Dress or Tunic B has ruffle neckband, ruffle sleeve bands and an asymmetrical ruffled skirt.

Use crêpe fabrics, jersey and also satin for blouse A.

Misses' Tunic and Dress.

Lined, Semi-fitted tunic A or dress B has long, flared raglan sleeves gathered with elastic at wrist, empire line bodice with gathers below the bust, V neck, neck band, back zipper (move to side) and bias cut below the bodice with a shaped narrow hem. Tunic has a cuff effect formed by a second gathering with elastic further up the sleeve under bias strip. Dress B has a contrasting straight skirt with back hemline vent attached creating the effect of the bias lower part of tunic as a shaped overlay.

Use light-weight crêpe fabrics, rayon, burn out fabrics. Contrast skirt B georgette, crêpe.

Burda 7562 - 2011

Misses' Plus Size Hip Length Blouse.

hip-length blouses with princess seams, V-neckline, and long sleeves is identical. The differences are created by choice of fabric and neck detailing. View A has a neckline tie bow. View B has staggered rows of loops along the neck band. View C, is made in lace and has a narrow taffeta neck band.

Use crêpe fabrics, taffeta, rayon/viscose C: Lace fabric with two scalloped edges.

Misses' Plus Size Tunic.

Tunic in two lengths has high scoop neckline, raglan sleeves and double tucks drawing in fullness of the skirt at the raised empire waistline and narrow hems. Long tunic A has long sleeves. Shorter tunic B has neckband and short sleeves

Use Only 2-way stretch fabrics.
Suggest using View A over skirt or trousers and Tunic B as a layering component beneath long sleeved jacket or duster and over a skirt or trousers.

Misses' & Misses' Plus Size Shirt or Over Blouse &Camisole.

Shirt or over blouse in two lengths has a small collar on collar band, shoulder yokes, section seams, long sleeves buttoned into cuff and front button closure. View A is below knee-length and View B is below hip length. Camisole C has side zipper, narrow straps and shaped bodice top.

Use crêpe fabrics, rayon/viscose, lightweight cottons.
Suggest using either View A or B as layering components.

Burda 7796 - 2010

Misses' Dress & Top.

Loose fitting, sleeveless dress or top have high round neckline with a few gathers at centre front to draw in fullness, back zipper, narrow neck and armhole bands and narrow hems. Dress A is lined. Dress B is unlined. Top C has a gathered lower hemline to form a bubble shape.

Use View A: transparent fabrics Views B & C: linen, crêpe fabrics, cotton fabrics.

The high neckline makes the dress option an excellent layering component under long sleeved garments and over trousers or skirts. Ideal for a light weight under-layer in summer.

Burda 7801 - 2008

Misses' Tunic & Pants.

Unlined very loose fitting, pullover tunic has asymmetric hemline, sleeve openings and stitched hems. Close-fitting, cropped pants have waist darts, narrow waistband and side zipper. Use linen, linen blends, crêpe fabrics.

Suggest using tunic as a layering component. May need to lengthen trousers.

Burda 7883 - 2007

Misses' Shirt & Vest.

Semi-fitted, unlined top has low v-neck with neck bands, long sleeves with sleeve bands and hem bands. B has contrast dickey style collar and front button closure. A has patch pockets and contrast bands, neck, pockets, hemline and sleeves. Vest is sleeves with arm hole bands.

Use stretch fabrics only - jersey, fibre fleece, knits.

Burda 8257 - 2006

Misses' Top, Trousers & Skirt

Fitted top has side zipper, shaped front hemline and split, narrow hems and front crossover halter neckline shaped with tucks extending into B back-neck ties with back sash drop OR on view A back crossover straps and attaching to bodice with back snap closure. Semi-fitted, very wide-legged trousers C have narrow waistband, side zipper and narrow hem. Semi-fitted, straight, lined skirt D has narrow waistband, darts front and back and back hemline split.
Fabrics use Chiffon, satin, georgette. 6 snaps and 30cm zipper for View A. 30cm zipper for view B. 20cm zipper and single button for views C and D.

Suggest using trousers View C.

Burda 8269 - 2000s

Women's Close-fitting Skirt.

Unlined Skirt is made up from many asymmetrically shaped panels ending in a flared and slightly ruffled hemline. Side zipper closure. View A: in three different fabrics.

Use Lightweight woollens, denim, crêpe fabrics.

Suggest using View A which you may need to lengthen or View B over trousers.

Misses' Co-ordinates.

Very loose-fitting cropped pullover top with single shoulder tie closure. Fitted very wide legged pants have mock fly zipper. Fitted straight skirt has side slit, waistband, front and back darts and back zipper.

Misses' Skirt.

Close-fitting, tulip shaped jean skirt has narrow waistband, mock fly zipper, side front pockets. top stitching and narrow hems. View B has cargo style patch pockets.

Use denim, linen gabardine. A little bit of stretch may not go amiss.

Burda 8406 - 2003

Misses' Skirt.

Fitted ankle length tulip skirt has 8 gores with godets, side zipper and narrow hem.

Use wool fabrics, flannel, imitation leather.

Vest in two lengths has front and back vertical darts, bust darts, Chinese collar and bust darts. A - approx 58cm in length with 11x snap closure unlined. B - is approx 90cm in length with front button x 6 closure and lined.

Suggest using view B as a layering component, either under a long sleeved jacket/duster or over a long sleeved top, with either skirt or trousers.

Misses' Pants.

Unlined, flared trousers, close-fitting through hips, have slanted front pockets, back darts, narrow contour waistband , carriers and front mock fly zipper and optional side seam ribbon stripes.

Use gabardine and lightweight denims.

Misses' Skirt

Unlined, A-line skirt worn below natural waist has contour waistline, waistline darts, side back zipper and inset flounce on left side front and narrow hems.

Use Viscose rayon, linen blends, crêpe fabric.

Suggest using View A which you may need to lengthen or View B over trousers or a long underskirt.

Burda 8848 - 2000

Misses' Dress, Top, Skirt and Jacket.

Fitted, straight, unlined dress B or top C has funnel collar with collar zip extending across the shoulder and long raglan sleeves. Fitted, lined, long, funnel shaped skirt D has contour waist no waistband, darts and zipper. Semi-fitted, unlined, asymmetrical wrapping, collarless jacket has bust darts, shaped hem, long raglan sleeves, ties and optional patch pocket..

Use , wools for jacket and skirt and knit fabric for dress or top. B & C 25cm zipper D 20 cm zipper.

Burda 8856 - 2000 Burda Start 3

Misses' Skirt & Sleeveless Blouse.

Views A & B: hip-hugging evening skirt swirling out towards the hem which is longer at the back. Double-layered skirt B is made of two different fabrics. Blouse C has cut-away shoulders gathered at the neck and a pleated collar buttoned at the back as well as a tie-band belt in the same fabric. Sewing level: advanced beginners
Use for A, B II: taffeta, crêpe satin B I, C: georgette, chiffon.

Suggest using View A.

Burda 8894 Skirt Burda Easy

Misses' Skirt

Bias skirt in two lengths with waist casing and draw string ties. Can be made with double layers.
Use light weight fabrics.

Suggest using View B. This is an excellent and really simple bias skirt. The drawstring waist makes it very easy to fit regardless of shape.

Burda 8897 Burda Start 3

Misses' Skirt & Top.

Fitted top has double bust darts, top stitched lapped side seams and narrow hems. A has long sleeves, standing collar and concealed low side zipper. C has lower side slit, contrast neckband and hood. Semi-fitted shaped skirt has back zipper,hem band, waist darts, no waistband and curved front hem. D has contrasting band and drawstring.
Fabric use felted and fleece fabrics, contrast fabric nylon.

Suggest using as layering components.

Burda 8906 - 2000

Misses' Top.

Fitted long sleeve top A has straight boat neck. B Fitted, sleeveless boat neck top. C Close fitting ruched, sleeveless top with straight boat neck made in elastic jersey.

Use A,B jersey, fine knits. C elastic jersey - lyric perhaps.

Suggest using as layering components.

Burda 8907 - 2000 Burda Easy

Misses' Skirt.

Semi-fitted, bias skirt has contour waist, asymmetrical hem and shaped side slit. A single layer. B double layer. C single layer and optional fringe.

Use Georgette, rayon, light-weight wools.

Suggest wearing over trousers or an underskirt.

Burda 8908

Misses' Pants.

Close fitting pants have zipper close, slash front pockets, contour waistband. A: mid knee length overlay. B: mid hip length overlay.

Burda 8924

Misses' Top

Pullover top for georgette, rayon, chiffon or fine knits with round neck, bias neck binding and bust darts. A has long sleeves and side slits. B has no sleeves and bias armhole binding and one-way layout for border prints along both selvages.

This is an excellent layering component as it is a maternity pattern it is longer and looser over the midriff than standard Misses' patterns.

Burda 8960 - 2000

Misses'/Misses' Petite Blouse.

Sleeveless princess seam blouse in two length has optional stand up collar and narrow hems. A is hip-length with placket pockets and stand up collar. B is below hip length and has forward and back seam slits below the waist.

Use Linen, cotton, viscose.

The high neckline makes the longer, View B, option an excellent layering component under long sleeved garments and over trousers or skirts.

Misses' Skirt.

Close fitting, lined seven gored (3 front 4 back), tulip skirt has narrow waistband, back zipper and optional double layer. View A: long, with lining, View B: short, with transparent over-skirt

Use Viscose rayon, Georgette, crêpe fabrics.

Suggest using View A - can apply the double layer used in View B by following View B instructions.

Burda 8988

Misses' Skirt & To

Close-fitting, beehive skirt has horizontal darts, side zipper and bottom drawstring. Close-fitting pullover top has front neck slit and high neckline back and front. A has short sleeves and standing collar. C is sleeveless, collarless and has diagonal bust dusts from cutaway armholes.

Use for top use moderate stretch knits like jersey. Skirt - linen, poplin.

Suggest using as layering components. The drawstring on the bubble skirt makes is very versatile as you can adjust the length to suit. If you use an narrow elastic with attached fabric tie ends for the drawstring it makes walking easy even when drawn in to quite a narrow circumference while maintaining the look of a fabric drawstring.
